What did life hold for you before Metzger?

My background is in B2B sales where I gained extensive experience of managing major client contracts and tender campaigns within the public and private sectors, nationally and internationally. My roles have included Director-National Accounts with Office Depot, National Contracts Director for Guilbert UK and General Manager for Niceday. Throughout my career, I have held responsibility for the recruitment, management and development of large teams

Can you name one person who has really inspired you and why?

Richard Branson – he’s ambitious, slightly unconventional, prepared to take risks, thinks it’s ok to have a sense of humour in the workplace and is constantly looking for better and different ways of doing things.

What values do you look for in a candidate?

Professionalism, capable of listening, and the ability to give specific relevant examples as answers to questions; also someone who has great self-awareness and humility.

What would be your best career advice?

Treat finding a job as a job!

Tell me something that no one knows about you?

Not many people know that I am studying for my Private Pilots Licence to fly light aircraft and have just completed by first solo flight – scary but exhilarating. Also, I own 3 horses, two from a rescue centre, 26 sheep and a 3 cats – so you could say that I’m an animal lover ……

And finally, what is your burning ambition?

I would love to be able to fly myself across the channel - from White Waltham to Limoges!
