Metzger Sponsors Himalayan Adventure

Metzger has dug deep into its pockets to support the Prince’s Trust, by sponsoring Remi Nassiri on a physical challenge in the Himalayas. Remi is the son of Maggie Chapman, Director of City Minds, one of Metzger’s partner organisations.

Remi will be competing in a seven day challenge in the Annapurna Himal to raise funds for one of the UK’s leading youth charities, the Princes Trust.

Teams will compete while cycling, trekking and white-water rafting on a 320km race in the heart of the mountain kingdom of Nepal. The adventure will take place from 11th – 21st November and requires each participant to raise £3500 to compete.

Lorraine Thomas, Managing Director of Metzger said: “The Metzger team would like to wish all the best to Remi for this challenge. We firmly believe in doing what we can to promote the good work of others, so we are delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor someone with links to our organisation who is raising funds for charity.”

Remi said: “I would like to thank all my sponsors, including Metzger, who have contributed towards the pot to help make this mission possible. While this will be an exciting and gruelling challenge that will require utmost fitness, fundamentally it is about raising money for a worthy cause that can contribute to changing young people’s lives.”

Update 6th December 2010

Having now completed the challenge we are pleased to report that Remi’s team came 4th. He stated that he finished the trek injury free but the experience was “truly hardcore”.

To continue its vital work the Princes Trust needs to raise £40 million this year. For more information on the Princes Trust or to make a donation to Remi's sponsorship fund please click on this link: http://my.artezglobal.com/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=318316&langPref=en-CA
